I have a 6 month old daughter and want to send her to a Montessori school. I went to a public school and it was okay, but the i like the way at a Montessori school they encourage the children to take care of themselves and do things on their own instead of doing things for them.
The way it has been explained to me is a child at a Montessori school will push their chair in at the end of class, wash their paintbrush, hang their own painting to dry, put the pencils away, serve their own playlunch, pretty much do everything for themselves. I like this idea as it sets a great example for them to do things be themselves at home like make their bed, put there washing in the laundry, get themselves dress, brush teeth and hair.

Hi - I sent my son to a Montessori school when he was younger. It was really good. Studies have shown that children achieve much better results in early primary school at the Montessori schools - but children taught in other ways catch up by late primary school.
Try a Montessori school if your child is really keen to learn and wants to know more than they are teaching in the public system.

i went to public schools,my 2 sons go to a montessori, but i'm going to put them in catholic school this coming year. public schools stink, the montessori school is ok,i like the philosophy but i also feel that it hinders their learning by not pushing them harder to learn.i think religious schools are better because smaller classes,if your paying then the parents will be more involved with their kids cause they dont want to be throwing their money away, they learn respect, learn about god,and they say 70% end up going to college.
