My stepdaughter is 14 and doesn't get along well with her mother. There isn't joint custody between both parents, but she is thinking that she would like to live with her dad in another state, and visit mom when she has time for her. But mom says no way, at what age in Indiana can she choose, and how does the process go? Any info would be great. Thank you.

In the state of Indiana there really is no age. Yes at 14 the judge will listen to the child, but the father would have to prove that he would be a better parent. There has to be a good reason for the move. The judge will not allow it for the girl just not getting along with her mother. Of course you could find a judge who would say yes. Good luck.

I think it varies by state, but I think I heard at 14 they 'consider' what the teen wants.
