Your local legislative body (city council, or whatever it's called where you live) voted the ordinance into law, so any change to the ordinance will also require them to vote on it. As mentioned above, get your representative on this body to introduce a bill proposing the change. Any rep can do this, but your own rep will have more of a stake in making you happy because they depend on your vote to stay in office. It helps to get some support behind you: lots of signatures from other concerned citizens on a petition; getting the support of a person or organization with political influence; having a lot of fellow citizens go to their rep's office asking for the change; getting exposure in the press - these are just a few ways you can gather support for your cause. Of course, if changing the ordinance is a no-brainer and no one would possibly oppose the change, then just asking is probably enough.

By getting invoved and going to city council meeting and voicing your opinions . This has got to be a united effort of all concerned citizens who feel that certains laws are unjust.

talk to your counselman and get them to put it before a vote.
