Apparently the guy behind me, parked in the opposite direction (parking spaces were at a slant) decided to back up before I got out of the way. Here is my problem...I have already had a couple accidents and one too many speeding tickets. The DMV sent me a letter saying change the way you drive or license will be suspended. So I did, and haven't had a citation for about six months. Then this happens. Will I lose my license? Even if it isn't my fault?

Also, when I asked the police officer whose fault it was, he said "You are on private property, we don't do reports for accidents on private property, mam."

The BMV can't suspend your license for an accident, unless you were cited or if you were the offender in a hit and run. Where I live, they still do accident reports on private property, if the vehicles owners simply do not want to exchange info - maybe the police here are too nice.

Not if it wasn't your fault. Oh, and the officer is right. They don't write up reports in parking lots of most stores, because it is private property. Now if someone gets hurt, its a different story.
