No because we already have people giving their lives and a small piece of the lives of their families and American continues to be generally made up of ungrateful people. We have people dying in Iraq with inadequate equipment and poor medical care when they get back and our concern as a country is Anna Nicole.
If I died for my country America would be easily be distracted by the next celebrity that checks into rehab or gains weight.
Lets say someone dies for the president. he would say a few words maybe speak to the family give a medal but after that he would go on vacation like nothing happened. Its all the same. Our president doesn't care, the public doesn' t care (until election time).

You know, our country may have it's problems, but we are the most free nation on the face of the earth. We may not agree with each others views, but we certainly have the right to express them.
I love being able to make choices. I don't want a government or a dictator to make them for me.
I want to be able to go from place to place without identity papers. I like the fact that I can go to a grocery store and know that the shelves are stocked full, because this country is industrious and we have plenty. I like to know that when I go to the hospital, I'm going to be cared for, and by the best medical people in the entire world. I like the fact that I can travel anywhere, take a vacation, sit along the beach and watch girls in bikinis, rather than burqa's.
I like it that I can own a home, a truck and a motorcycle, and not have those things taken from me.
I like knowing that we have the best trained armed forces on the planet, and that they are patriotic enough to defend all that we hold near and dear to us.
Would I fight for this country? You betcha. Americans have their problems here at home, but when we're threatened by another country or a group of terrorists, we rally together and we fight to win. Americans have been giving their lives for that flag since it's conception. And I pray we always will.
God bless America.

I am in the Army and I would die for America for many reasons,to keep it free, for my kids, and for my fellow soldiers, there are so many people in America who take it for granted, freedom and little things like seeing their family's at night and sleeping where it is safe, there is less than 20 percent of America who serve and earn their freedom that's why there are many who step up and defend it for them and some making the greatest sacrifice. American people need to wake up and get a grip on reality and be thankful.

Every moment of our stupid little lives has been in relative comfort compared to the rest of the world because we are American. Appreciation of what America has given us and others around the world during every second of our existence is the perfect reason to sacrifice our lives for that message and that symbol.

I don't think that's a choice anyone can make- it implies that you would have more power over a situation then you really do.
We'd all like the solace of thinking that we will not die for "nothing", but instead die for "something" - and that those two values can be easily defined by a generally acceptable definition-
It is not about how you die that matters- but how you live- with integrity, dignity and honor

as a soldier who has been to 13 different countries and just returned from iraq , my answer is no, and there is no GOOD reason to die for the polotics of the united states. we fight and die for our friends who walk beside us, not the two faced american public.

This will always be the Land of the Free so long as it is the Home of the Brave. I would fight to the death for my family and for the soldiers to the left and the right of me. They are my brothers and sisters in arms.

If anybody is going to die for their country, its going to be the other guy. I had great basic combat training courtesy of the US Army,
and wouldput it to use,
I;d give my life for my buddy in uniform, he'd do it for me. You might nut understand unless you've been there.

Very few people die for their country in battle. Almost every casualty has died for the guy next to him.
