That is not related to the medication. Side effects of pheno are drowsiness, disorientation and sometimes increase hunger/thirst. All of these side effects will go away within a few weeks when the medication levels stabalize in her body. You should have the vet take a look at the eye to make sure she doesnt have something else going on as well. Phenobarbitol is a good seizure medication, its the most commonly used one, but it should never be stopped suddenly and its important that you give it on a schedule and have her blood levels checked when the vet says.

That white film is probably just the cat's inner eyelid showing. It will not make her go blind. Some cats show the inner lid a lot. Others (probably like your cat) do so only when very relaxed. The phenobarb is probably making her a bit sleepy and "loose" while she is getting used to it. Of course you are concerned about your cat and you are right to be concerned because you care about her but this is probably not a bad reaction. If you do not see any other things that concern you give it a few days and see how the med affects her seizures. If she gets where she wants to sleep all the time, or won't eat or drink or acts sick then definately do take her back to the vet or even to another vet. I hope she will be better and not have any more seizures.

That white film over half your cat's eye is probably the cat's "third eyelid." This appears when the cat has gastrointestinal issues (tapeworm), is sick or... when the cat is "stoned." Your cat is "high" on phenobarbital ... he is whoozy... My cat's third eyelid would go over half his eyes too whenever I have to give him 1/4 of a calming pill before a trip on an airplane... kinda funny. If yur vet says keep on giving the meds as prescribed, do it.

What you are seeing with the white film over half her eye is nothing to be worried about--it's just her third eyelid. As far as her meds go, they could not cause anything to do with the eyelid. She needs you to continue giving her the meds.

Hopefully, you don't force your cat to eat vegetarian. Because the thing is, humans, cats, and all higher life forms need an amino-acid relative called taurine. Unfortunately, cats cannot produce taurine and so need to EAT MEAT to get it. Otherwise, they have seizures, go blind, and die.
