If you're interested in the ongoing efforts for cleanup from Hurricane Katrina, the Hands On Network is working to coordinate volunteers in the region for hurricane relief.

You might also check with your local volunteer centers to see if you can get referrals to other non-profit agencies in which you can provide assistance:

Volunteer centers provide referrals and can connect you to one-time, short-term, and long-term volunteer opportunities.

Good luck!

I don't know where you are but there were many cities that were damaged up there. Columbus Georgia was hit pretty bad too. My niece and nephew's school is gone. as is many other places and homes. Americus Georgia lost a whole hospital. Try hooking up with a church that is going there to help clean up of the Red Cross. I am sure that the Red Cross is going there.

I am sure that if you research in your area you can find a gruop or something that is going there to help.
