"Thou shall not murder"

That's what you say for abortion, why can't you say the same for all the American soldiers and the Iraqi civillians?

So you cannot see the difference between guilt and innocence?

And civilians are not being killed by US soldiers. Mostly they're being killed by Islamic Fundamentalists. Why aren't you complaining about THEM?

Aizen-Sama~~~~

oh brother what a can of worms you opened with that question .. one that I incidently think is a very good question to ask...it's one that should make people think.

straight away I noticed the old chestnut WELL WE'RE KILLING BAD GUYS AND BABIES ARE INNOCENT...

THEN i noticed the ALL THE SOLDIERS ARE MURDERERS chestnut from the other side ,

and we wonder how in hell world peace ISN'T achievable ..

anyway MY answer to your question is as follows ... People justify what ever they want HOWEVER they want to . The same people who cry abortion is a sin WILL support the war .. and they will mention the BAD people and they will mention saddam (hell some of them will even try to shame you by asking questions like :"I suppose you would prefer saddam back ") .... BUT THESE PEOPLE will rarely make reference to the innocent people , men women and children who have been killed in Iraq

I am pro-choice because i believe the alternative sucks big time BUT am I pro-abortion HELL NO. I would prefer ever conception to be a wanted and much loved child....but I also live in the real world and know that isn't the case hence my pro-choice stance.

Some wars are like abortions ..necessary evils .. Iraq is like an abortion that should never have taken place ...

BUT TO ATTACK the men and women serving there , to say that they are bad .. That's so wrong too. They are not setting out to kill innocent people. Well there have been one or two incidents where some servicemen have bought shame to the people they serve with ...

people have to learn to be a lttle more understanding of one another's predicaments. People who are anti-abortion have to be a little bit more understanding of the people who chose abortion and at the VERY LEAST accept that it is NOT for them to judge but for God to. People who are anti-war .. have to understand that the service man or woman are generally good and decent people who are doing their job and NO MOST service men are not bad people .

Well, there are lots of reasons I imagine.

But I think it has something to do with a couple things.

1) People who think this way generally think people having sex should expect a baby may happen. Maybe they believe that if you wouldn't want to raise a baby with your sex partner, then you shouldn't be having sex.

2) These people probably feel that the life created by the man and woman, has no say in its fate and people should be more responsible. If people acted responsibly then the only abortions people would need to discuss are those extreme cases of violent crime and abuse.

3) People also understand that throughout history sometimes people have to take up arms and fight. These soldiers are grown adults that volunteer to defend and fight for their country. Our country was founded by men who believed in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness enough to fight for it. When people support a war it is because they believe that is necessary to fight to save more lives in the long run or to preserve their way of life. They feel there is a large enough threat that it needs to be addressed by force before the problem gets out of hand. If you have any questions please read about Neville Chamberlain and Winston Churchill. Please look at it from a historical point of view rather than a 21st century capsulated view.

4) People also probably think that your question is naive and rooted in idealism and not reality.

5) If there is ever a time in your life when someone attacks your or your family, idealism isn't going to keep anyone safe. There are bad people who hurt good people. I have a relative who was shot in the face at point blank range while she was carrying a child (or a fetus as pro-choice people call it. Funny how when a pro-choice person wants a a child they calls it their baby, but when they don't it's a fetus. I say pro-choice people should have to call their baby a fetus until it takes it's first breath because that's when they say it becomes a viable life). She was shot because she refused to have relations with a man forcing himself on her. Your type of thinking would never have saved her had you been there. Philosophy can't solve everything. Sometimes people need to fight.

I don't know why anyone supports the American invasion of Iraq. USA is murdering a bunch of Iraqis for no reason, you think after having there own unprovoked attacks against them-Pearl Harbour and 9/11, they would realize that attacking people for no reason is wrong.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to finding Osama? That would be a justified, not invading a sovern nation without cause.

I wonder what would happen if a bunch of Iraqis showed up in Washington and started to gun people down and "liberate" cites like the Americans are doing to Iraq? How would the media try to spin that?

P.S. "The war in Iraq is for the protection of our loved ones. Our intent is to keep the terrorist from coming into our territory and to show them that we will not allow them to hurt the people of our country again (9/11)." Afganistan attacked you guys on 9/11, not Iraq-different country. Iraq had nothing to do with it. Saddam is actually innocent (of this, not other things, just this).

I am against abortion without exception and have never supported the war in Iraq. I didn't vote for Bush and encouraged other people not to vote for him. I offer information and help to women entering abortion facilities, and 95% of the pro-lifers out there with me are against the war, too.

Killing innocent human beings, in the womb, Iraq, or anywhere else, is wrong:

Don't you agree?

What? Against abortion while pro-war? There must be something wrong here? I found a link for the people who's still living in a dream, for once use your own brain to think! Warning, the pictures there are pretty scary, don't look if you just had your dinner.

You have a good point. All life is precious whether it be a baby born out of the womb or soldiers or Iraqui civillians. But pain is the real thing we should be preventing, abortions are drastically less than what the Iraqui civillians expereicne.

I can't give you a direct answer on your question, but I will say that America is very screwed up. We need to prioritize the issues in our country and the way that we do things in a more efficient manner. I'm American, but I deal with so many stupid people here. This is a bible banging country. Let's set religion aside and look at the hard facts people. I know people are going to hate my response, but it's true

an unborn baby's life is a lot more precious than soldiers in war: the soldiers know perfectly well they are fighting for a cause that they might die for. And Bush does not seem to care how many
civilians his troops kill before he can make his point. Abortion is so controversial because its murder of a baby that has no choice in whether it lives or dies.

Why are people so against war in Iraq while they are pro-abortion?

2007-03-03 16:55:14 · answer #10 · answered by contrarian 1 · 0 0

The abortion of human babies is murder. The war in Iraq is for the protection of our loved ones. Our intent is to keep the terrorist from coming into our territory and to show them that we will not allow them to hurt the people of our country again (9/11).

We are not over there to murder people. We are there to protect our country and to help to protect those people who have been abused and murdered by terrorists.

There is a difference in murdering and protecting. Terrorist groups are still at large. As for Osama bin laden. The Clinton administration found him 10 times and did not do anything about him any of those times.

OUR SOLDIERS ARE OUR HEROES.
