Then don't have one! Do you actually think banning abortion will stop it from happening? Not by a long shot. Women will be dying in alleys and in their bathtubs from using unsafe and non-sterile "back alley abortions". But I guess that's alright. Guess they deserved what they had coming, right? I mean, if they're stupid enough to go through a procedure like that knowing full well they could die from it, then they deserve to die anyway. Hey, and while we're at it, we should remove warning labels all together, since any idiot can figure out that blow-drying your hair in the bathtub is hazardous.

I really don't think that they will make abortions illegal. I'm half and half on the abortion issues. i think it's okay for women to choose, but of course they will have to suffer the consequences later, such as the 'what if I kept the baby'. It does irritate me when women get abortions especially when they know before hand that you should use some protection and they don't use it. If they do get pregnant while using protection then i'm a little more forgiving in that area because it does happen. It's a touchy subject for me. I mean personally for myself I wouldn't get an abortion unless there was something seriously wrong with the baby that I knew that i could not care for. I have never had an abortion and I have used protection in order to make sure I didn't get pregnant when I didn't want it to happen. Overall, I just try to be understanding of other women and their situations even if they didn't use protection.

Woa! Someone is pretty judgmental here and I'm sure that based on the tone of your wording here, you will be reading quite a few nasty responses (you might want to think about how to rephrase this next time as you will get better-balanced answers that way).

Just so you know, while I agree with you and I'm a Christian, I do not think that outlawing an abortion would resolve this issue. I do not agree with abortions because of the fact that the baby does not get a choice in this. However, I don't believe that making them illegal will stop abortions. No, the solution is to target the reasons why people feel they need abortions. Once those issues are resolved (such as a way for a college student to raise a child or give a child up for adoption) then you will see less abortions.

I feel the same way! They use religion as an excuse, but hey, GUESS WHAT?? They may not believe in God or anything like that. Who said it was ok for you to shove your religion down anyone else's throat? Not you, questioner, this is to everyone else. Who made you dictator over the lives of others?? I think these people need to get their heads out of their butts and realize everyone doesn't feel the same as they do. Heck, if I was raped, why would I want to give birth to my rapist's child? If my life was threatened, I'm not going to wait for your approval to save my own life. The baby would not have a mother. Why overload the foster care system worse than it already is.

Exactly... sad thing is the procedure is already risky... not many people know that having an abortion can screw up a woman's reproductive system and that there is usually lots of mental and emotional torment months and months afterward. Having an abortion isn't like having a toenail removed. It's very dangerous!

As christians we know we cant change the world. I'm a christian and im totally against abortion, but then i think that if abortion was banned how many babies would we find in a garbage can, unwated babies being abused or women dead from alley abortions. They have birth control for a reason but if someone doesnt want to be a mom and they wont consider adoption then who am i to force her to have a baby she doesnt want. The best thing to do in this situation is pray for God to intervene.

Your completely right, on the fact that you could die from abortion...It is totally unsafe..and I think that all of thease ppl out there who support this procedure have no clue what really happens..Im only 15 but i certainly have my own views on the subject.. The truth is that abortion not only kills the baby but can cause all kinds of problems for the mother..not only serious pain, but problems later in life with conceiving, and al ton of emotional problems..I know girls getting this procedure done just as they would their nails!..These ppl in favor of this are CRAZY!...Teen girls are acting on impuls ebecause of a bad decicion..They dont know the real consequences of the abortions, and almost evry one that has had one regrets it. Killing a child(a creation from God with a plan in order for their lives) is no soultion to a problem @ all. ppl need to just stop being dumb!....And i sure hope no one would put themselves in this much danger to end a life that can bring so much to the world if given the chance!

it's truly sad that people would rather see both woman and foetus die than just have it taken care of safely before it becomes a baby... abortion is not something to use for birth control, and those against it seem clueless as to what a woman has to go through to do it even once - nobody would ever want to endure it again...
there are good reasons for abortions, the mother would die (I knew a woman in that situation), the baby would die, or both, rape, incest, even that one time oops, etc. Anybody who would use it as birth control has serious psychological problems.

I encourage all of the anti-choice nazis to write to their congressmen and ask them to whisper in the ears of their friends in the pharmaceutical industry to develop and market a safe affordable over-the-counter birth control pill. While they're at it, they can whisper in the ear of their friends in the big insurance companies and ask them to start covering birth control for every insured woman of child-bearing age. Or they can pass legislation to socialize birth control for all US citizens. And they can pass legislation requiring schools to teach sex ed so girls actually know how one gets pregnant in the first place (they obviously don't... just look at the questions they ask in this forum!)

If the actual point is to limit or eliminate abortions, there are a lot better ways to achieve that goal then outlawing abortion. But I get the feeling their goal is actually to point fingers and pass judgment so they can feel self-righteous.

Face it. Sex Happens. Until women have affordable reliable ways of preventing unwanted pregnancies (and the necessary education to put those methods to use), abortion will continue to happen, whether it is legal or not.

Yes Banning abortions will stop it from happening legally.
Can we stop women for doing it in a back-alley..No
Can we stop women from drowning their children..no
Can we stop a rapist before he does it...No
Can we stop murders before they do it..No

Do we allow these things...No.

oh and by the way, banning abortions may stop people from actually having unsafe sex..
In addition will lower STD's and AIDS infections...

Stop supporting the killing of 1000's of people everyday.

Not just by abortions, but by AIDS and other infections

A woman has one choice...and thats too keep her legs closed and respect her body.

I know plenty of girls who don't have children, Have sex lives and never have abortions, they go to college and have great lives...

They choose to be responsible.

But one bad decision can change a person's life.
We can't run and hide from that, we have to know that and deal with it.

All Christians should read carefully Exodus 21:22-25 which treats "causing miscarriage" as only a misdemeanor and accidental death of an adult as a capital offense:

The New American Standard Bible (NASB) renders Exodus 21:22-25 this way:

"And if men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she has a *miscarriage*, yet there is no [further] injury, he shall surely be *fined* as the woman’s husband may demand of him; and he shall pay as the judges decide. But if there is any [further] injury (i.e., *the woman dies*), then you shall appoint as *a penalty life for life*, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise."
