The Hebrew Scriptures are complete and and of themselves. They Christian scriptures (i.e. New Testament) were added on. So, the "Old Testament" is in no way, shape, or form a picture of the "New Testament."

I wonder.. could the "New Testament" survive on its own, as its own scripture without the Hebrew Scriptures?

The Ark of the Covenant was a picture of Jesus.
The Holy of Holies was a picture of Jesus.
Noah's Ark was a picture of Salvation.
Moses and Joseph were pictures of Jesus.
The story of Adam and Eve included the purpose for and a prophecy of Salvation. In fact, the entire Old Testament is a series of such comparisons. It's ALL about Jesus.

There are pictures of Christ throughout. The animal slain to clothe Adam. The kinsman redeemer. The Ark. The sacrificial lamb.

It is said that in the old testament is Christ concealed, and in the new testament is Christ revealed.

yes it is. The OT prophecies the Messiah to come and the NT shows us Jesus fulfilling the prophecies.

foreshadowing / typology

OT - the arc of the covenant held the 10 commandments (word of God), the rod of Aaron (represents priesthood) and a jar of manna (food the God had rained down from Heaven for the Israelites to live on).
NT - Mary is the new arc of the new covenant. She held Jesus-the Word, the highest priest/prophet and the bread of life (Eucharist)

In the books of Samuel it tells of David and God appointing him to be the next king. Follow David's lineage, it goes to Mary then Jesus, who is King of Kings.

Theologicans don't lie. Idiots online lie, false prophets on TV lie, uninformed loudmouths lie. Theologicans actually know of which they speak, the fact you do not possess the same level of understanding does not make their claims decietful.
