You shouldn't have any problems at all getting your dog a rabies shot without past vaccination records. Most vets do not need a past record in order to give current shots, especially rabies. However, most veterinary offices will keep their files for several years, sometimes forever. You can call the vet who gave the shots a year ago, and he or she should be able to provide you with a vaccination record.

Just go in to the vet or take him into the pound. Tell them you need a rabies shot. You don't really need the rest. The rabies is the most important. And he should be on file at the pound or your name who ever is the owner. At least that's what they do here in Florida. They are really anal about that. Rabies shots are not expensive just about 45 dollars.
Good luck.

Well I hope this helps a little go to the Docter/Vet and tell them that you lost his vaccination papers and you need a copy for your files and make in appointment with them ASAP do not wait every once a year to take your dog to get seen or treated for something that he might get in his or her life time

I don't suppose you have his rabies tag on his collar?
The info on the tag will tell you when his last shot
was and how long it is good for.
If no, contact the vet you took him to last, they should
have his records.
I recently found out that rabies shots varies- some are good
for 2 years, others 3. Your dog may not be due for one,
and you dont want to give him one if not needed. Find that info!
Good Luck!

If its been a year go ahead and take him to the vet and get both a booster shot and a rabies shot. He needs them both! It shouldn't cost but about 10 dollars more. They will give him both if those shots without any records.
