I've been on Topamax for about 3-4(at most) years....and Welbutrin for 3 months.....my memory is terrible. I can't remember where i put common items. At work i lose pens all the time...even though they are in my apron pocket...and i thought i lost the tape yesterday. It took me forever to find the remote...and it was right there. My head hurts...but its not a headach....i feel like i'm stupid or something...like i can't think straight....

should i go and tell this to my doctor...is this not right?

Yes, you need to go to your doctor. You shouldn't be having side effects from the topamax if you have been on it for awhile, but with
the welbutrin being new, it could be the cause. No your not stupid, and no it's not right.

Yes this can happen with the Wellbutrin. Since this is the new medication. The Topomax you have been taking for years, I would say it's the Wellbutrin.

My memory is horrible after being put on Trileptal for Bipolar and Lexapro for Depression. I can't remember anything. It's hard to find things. I lose things all the time. It's awful, but it's a side effect of the medication, and also because of the depression. So they tell me!

I take Topamax for migraines, and memory disturbance is definitely a side effect. I will find the prescribing information for you that I looked up to make sure when I first started taking the medication. I find I have to be ectremely organized, and give myself a break when I cannot recall a term or have to take an extra moment to make sure I have everything I need. The alternative is worse--debilitating migraines. Definitely let your doctor know. Hang in there.
