Yes - there is very little likelihood of transmitting Hep B through sexual contact. However, it is possible. Two important things here: 1. It is the responsibility of the carrier to tell his or her partner that he/she has Hep B. 2. The mantra: "There will be no love without a glove."

yes, with hep b the virus runs it's course and you only have antibodies left. which means you can never get it again. that's the short answer and all you really need concerning passing it on. for the long answer concerning your liver, look up CDC on the net. most people are fine after they are over the virus. good luck. I'm really surprised by the answers, hep c stays with you, not hep b. your body will develop antibodies against it and kills the virus. just like a cold. their are many cold viruses. once you have antibodies from a cold, you will never get "that" cold again.

if patient is "surface antigen" positive then they are infectious. They should inform their partner to get vaccinated prior to sexual encounters and if the partner is properly vaccinated then there is no risk. If patient does not have "surface antigen" then they are no longer infectious.

If you tell your partner and use a condom. don't have oral sex, or kiss and you SHOULD be fine as long as you don't break the condom.
