sorry, the question was actually, is the anterior lobe smaller than the posterior lobe.

The anterior pituitary is almost the same size as the posterior pituitary. I couldn't find any data on weight comparing the two.

The anterior pituitary is part of the pituitary, so yes, it's smaller.
