im a student and ive joined this weight losing contest. i am given 1 month to lose weight as much as possible, a 7-day free pass to an exclusive gym. i go to the gym every wednesday and saturday and i eat bread in the morning and protein for the rest of the day. so far ive lost 8.8 lbs in 2 weeks. is this fast enough to for me to win the contest?

to answer the water thing... water breaks up food through hydrolysis... anything you hear about stomache acids digesting things is a lie... the only thing acids are good for is growing enzymes... ice water burns calories because water has zero because calories are measured in the change of temperature of water.. trust me you do not want me to go into more detail.... the low temperatures of the water force your body to use energy to heat it up.... but it only burns like a few calories like maybe 10 per cup.... water is much more useful for hydrolysis as it is the only thing that prevents foods from turning into fat other than exercise which you should also get a lot of if you are trying to lose weight in short MORE WATER = MORE WEIGHT LOSS

if you want to lose fast, go low-carb [Atkins]! at least the 2 weeks of induction would make you lose weight for sure if followed correctly. I'm a low-carber and it helped A LOT! I go back to induction every once in a while and it works. but please don't go overboard, no use of winning the contest in an unhealthy way!

I don't know if thats fast enough for you to win the contest, but I do have this tip for you: drink lots and lots of ice water. I don't know how they figured this out or measured it, but its the only thing you can drink that will have negative calories.

Eat plenty of fruits and veggies. They will fill you up without adding a lot of calories so you will be less hungry for more calorie-dense food.
