Sure, but there is no magic in upconversion. The player just scales the signal up and deinterlaces it. Your HDTV is doing the same thing and probably better!

No. Upconvert DVD players generally do not have a video input. There are AV recievers on the market that will do upconversion on a variety of sources however.Check out some Sony ES series, Denon or Yahmaha models.
