I would hardly be concerned about the apearnce, you can change that, you can download new skins and every thing. i would be more woried about the cost of teh machine to run it and the sucurity issues. and if you have Xp right now there is no reason to go to windows vista unless you want to play blue ray HD dvds(expencive).
windows vista is not yet worth the time or money, Xp will last for a few more years
