You know, I wish that I could answer that. I do take Seroquel at nite to help me to sleep especially since I take the ssri (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) Prozac Weekly and that gives insomnia (and seroquel is supposed to also help a bit with ocd due to working on the neurotransmitter, dopamine), but I do also have 'irritable bladder' with or without Seroquel. I've had that for several years where it feels an urge to go to the bathroom but just a small amount is released. I presume that you noticed this after you started taking the Seroquel. Perhaps you can talk to your doctor about it. Your pharmacist may also be able to tell you if urinary retention is common amongst those that take it.

I had gone to a urologist, dr who specializes in the urinary system, for my symptoms of urgency and frequency and after some diagnostic tests, he determined that it was the irritable bladder. There is a test called a Urodynamic, sorta like an ultrasound that shows if the bladder is retaining urine.

http://www.duchs.com/feedback/Seroquel

this website is where users of Seroquel (including me) have gone to share there experiences with it. There were so many that I could not read them all, but I'm sure if anyone has ever experienced urinary retention with it, it will be listed there....
