This really depends upon you.
Gymnastics is a very tough sport, and you will get hurt once in awhile (i.e., loss of concentration during execution, pulled muscles, etc.).
*If you go to a good gymnastics place, the instructors will take their time about progressing you up to higher levels (you have to be both physically and mentally prepared to execute the movements).
If you really don't want to do this sport, tell your folks, and I'm sure that they'll come up with something else for you which is more fun for you.
My youngest daughter (10 yrs. old) is still in gymnastics, my son stopped this year. My oldest daughter (23 yrs. old) was/is a volleyball player (former Junior Olympian).
Good luck, I hope this helps.

Gymnastics can be very scary!! There are no guarantees that you will not get hurt. If you trust your coaches and yourself, then there really is nothing to be scared of. GO step by step and sooner or later, you'll realize the skill your trying to get isn't as hard you think it is. Do lots of drills, so your body knows what it will feel like when you actually go for the trick. When it is time to go for the trick, go for it 100%. A lot of injuries happen when gymnasts chick out in the middle of a skill. Remember, it hurts a lot less if you go for it all the way.

if you play a sport, there's NO guarantee that you will not be injured. It's almost likely.
If you quit now, you'll never know how great you can be.
I did the mistake of quitting gymnastics after 7 years. I really wish I would've continued with it.
Your still young, and i'm advising you to stick with it.
You'll regret it later, trust me, I know.

gymnastics is good for you, don't give it up. but concentrate MORE on your schoolwork because your spelling isn't very good. I don't mean to insult you, just want you to realize that studying is more important than any sport. "young" not "yong", "scared" not "scard", "hurt" not "hert".

i completely sympathize with you. i take karate and i was always scared that i was going to get hurt. And i did. I completely blew my knee out and had surgery on it. But, getting hurt will make you stronger as a person, and as an athlete, But no, you don't want to quit. getting hurt is apart of sports. But if you quit, you'll never know how good you can actually become. Olympics, who knows.... Stick with it, you won't regret it. ;)

keep going you wont get far in life if you quit because its to hard or your worried about getting hurt.everyones scared when they start something new and have no experience at it.stick to it and become more adept at it and you wont be scared any more.worry about your education though first and foremost.

as long as your instructor knows what he's doing and knows what you can do you will never get hurt.
