As Cahtolics, we believe if we live according to the teachings of the Bible and the Church Jesus Christ gave us, if we do our best to do God's will in our lives and strive for holiness...that we have a pretty good shot at Heaven.

Remember- we have all been redeemed by Chrust- but we can throw away our salvation.

Even St. Paul sain he was " anxiously working out' his salvation. If St Paul had to work on it- so do we!

Anyone who thinks they are automatically getting into heaven is guilty of the sin of presumption!

Yes.

Catholics and other Christians believe that one becomes holy when you are spiritually born again and receive the Holy Spirit.

Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):

By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.

With love in Christ.

No, no one can merit there way into heaven. we're "saved" by the sheer grace of God through Jesus Christ. Living a Holy Life is the result of being redeemed.

Yes!!!the 10 commandments tell us what we can't do. The Catholic church is essentially based on respect and forgiveness.

no
Hell can only be avoided if Jesus saves us. Then we work out our salvation daily with fear and trembling like St. Paul says.

im catholic and as far as i can tell we are all going to hell or purgatory which to my understanding is an endless blank of nothingness while we do penance for our sins that weren't so offensive as to send us straight to hell. that seems like hell too really. so i guess we are all doomed to a hellish fate. and people wonder why we drink...
