NO. Fading is relative to how well you take care of your tattoo.

Good aftercare is key to your tattoo looking crisp and fresh for longer. Do not use any junk products on it which healing, stick to unscented white lotions like cocoa butter. Go to a professional studio with good quality inks and a good reputation for work.

Once it is healed SUNBLOCK is very key to it fading. 3 or 4 times whenever you spend time in the sun. Even driving in the car for a long journey where you get one arm tanned can affect it. The more sun exposure you get the more damaged your tattoo will become. You should be using sunblock anyway on your skin but its easy to forget and with a tattoo its damage that means having to either cover it up in the long term or have it reworked more often.

IF you do not feel you can deal with the sunblock thing stick to colours that do not fade so bad, Blacks, blues, greens, purples, darker deeper colours tend to be less affected. Whites, pinks, yellows and pale colours are all very susceptible to fading and sun damage.

You can tint the white with another color; like maybe a shade of blue (as in reflection of the water). But honestly, if something is supposed to be white, most tattoo artists will just use the person's skin as the "white". White is usually used for "pop" or highlights but eventually fades.

White kind of fades away, what about don't fill it in and leave in like it is. And additional you can do the fish the same color of the lotus, so it kind of have a balance. Or what about shadows?
