The Phillips one clamps to the chain stay just in front of the rear axle. It has to be done up tight (real tight). You will need to align the clamp with the stay to get the best result.(the spring allows it to come straight) And clamp a bit on the weld to help stop it slipping.

The (safety) strap goes around the chainstay as well there is usually enough length to get a half hitch on the stay and clip it off to the metal loop on the trailer arm.

A few short rides and retighten as necessary. If you don't get it tight enough it will wind up in brushing your spokes.

Most trailers come with a hitches that are designed to attach quickly and safely to virtually all types of bicycles. Some attach to the chain stays, and some have alternative hitches like the quick release type that replaces the rear skewer. Both hitches should only be used if accompanied by a Safety strap.
Depending on the bikes chain stays angles the regular chain stay hitch may not work. I had to switch to the Alternative hitch to make mine work.

This trailer should have come complete with a coupling device that you can clamp onto the seat post of your bike. Take a look at what the seller sent you and determine if there is a seat post clamp or one that attaches to the frame. If these parts aren't there, then you didn't get what you bid for. If there's a "c-clamp" then you should be able to attach it to any vertical tube above the rear tire.
