In one of the early Muslim civil wars (a.d. 683),

al-Zubayr in Mecca was besieged by al-Husayn. Husayn's

men used catapults and damaged the Kaba. It looked like

'the torn bosoms of mourning women'. Zubayr and his men

pitched their tents next to the Kaba, and a

conflagration caught the Kaba on fire. The Kaba was

severely damaged, and the black stone was split into

three pieces.

A short time later, al-Hadjdjadj conquered Mecca and

killed Zubayr. He modified the Kaba's structure.

In 929, the Karmatians invaded Mecca and carried off

the black stone! 20 years later it was returned.

Other natural events (bad weather) have also caused the

Kaba to need repair.

Just so you do know. We Muslims believe that the Kabba will be destroyed near the end of the times if this would make you happier.

I see the timeline you have made but I have a question, why did you stop? I believe we are leaving in the 21st century and all I see are dates from like 1000 years ago. Continue on with your timeline and you'll see that there are events where the Kabah was protected. Everything happened for a reason and not everybody can understand the reason or even knows it. Plus the words are vital to preserve since that's what out beliefs are based on. If that is tarnished, there goes the beliefs and teachings.

Because the Quran is what we live by
and whatever happens to buildings, mosques, people
there is a reason behind it..and only God knows that reason with his infinite knowledge.
If the Quran is changed then whats the point of being a Muslim
it wont be the same as God revealed it to prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
but when something horrible happens (as stated above) then obviously God is testing us to see how we are going to deal with it.
i believe everything that happens to me is a test from God..
he is testing my faith..to see how strong i really am
because he is the All-Knower.

I mean if He let the Quran to be changed..and he was trying to test us
how would we responded and reacted in a calm and Islamic way..when the text has been altered..and we cant look up or read the Quran for guidance and patience.

and besides
God is God
he can do whatever He wants...
why would you want to question God's authority, knowledge, power etc..

That was perhaps a sign from God that that structure is not what you worship Muslims. It's the locatation which matters most. We must understand the Sacred mosque is not where God lives but HE is everywhere. It's just a symbol of unity. If anyone had doubt, than what u told above would open their eyes. The House was built by Prohphet Abraham and his Son Ismaeel as a gratitude to GOD. The location where the house is located is also claimed by many scholars to be where Adam first prayed to God or did something. I'm not sure.

Read the Surah Al-Feel. Its the 105th Surah. It talks about how God protects the Ka'ba.
And the only ones who could touch the Black Stone are the ones who decent from the Prophet himself and it was never split into three pieces.

EDIT: By touching I mean a person who could place the stone in its spot.

Muslims are not worshiping any thing else BUT ALLAH. Attacking the Sacred House Ka'abah depends on the intention. When Ibraha AL Habashi tried to demolish Al-Ka'abah, Allah protected it since he was targeting the religion of Allah.

That's because God never promised to protect the Kaaba. Only the Quran. Kaaba is just a unity thing. We don't worship it. It's a major historical point, THE historical point for muslims. Even if it was bulldozed to the ground, all muslims would still turn that direction because it unification. A symbol of the entire faith being one.

Didn't you hear about the man from Abyssinia who wanted to demolish the Kaaba with his elephants.

105.001 Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Companions of the Elephant?
105.002 Did He not make their treacherous plan go astray?
105.003 And He sent against them Flights of Birds,
105.004 Striking them with stones of baked clay.
105.005 Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up.

(QURAN)

The "sacred house" isn't the Word of God. It's merely a place of focus where we all turn to pray thus creating unity. Of course it has it's religious significance - but it's not the Revelation.
