you need to check with your local dodge dealership about this. i had a stratus also, and there was a recall on the transmissions those years, but only certain models, if yours is covered, chrysler will replace it for free. regardless of mileage.

i own a shop and it sounds like the transmission went out on it,kind of sudden like ,but that's what it sounds like that happened to it,there's an i-40 interstate close to where i live near Knoxville Tennessee,good luck.

I'm sorry, it sounds like you got a hold of one of the many fine Chrysler products with a complete crap tranny. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. For your sake, I hope I am wrong. You'll likely need a transmission rebuild.
