I actually know of a couple who did this in California. I don't think they held up signs, but they stood in front of an abortion facility every week and told the women arriving for their appointments that they would be honored to adopt their baby. It took them several years, but they finally did find a mother who was willing to allow them to adopt her child. Also, if you talk to any pro-life group in front of an abortion facility and ask them if they would be willing to adopt a baby, you will get a resounding, "Yes!" every time.
There are over a million couples waiting to adopt right now in America. However, I can tell you from my own experience and research that it is VERY rare for an abortion-minded woman to choose to place her baby for adoption. The vast majority of women who change their minds about their abortions choose to parent their babies themselves.

People who are having abortions are only thinking of themselves, and not the baby. If they wanted to give their baby a good home to live in they would find an adoptive home. Couples holding signs in front of the clinics wouldn't change any womans mind. The women that I know who had abortions didn't want anyone to find out they were pregnant, so they would never go through the whole pregnancy and let everyone know. People can say what they want, but they know that for 95% of these women that's the real case.

Might make the girl actually think about WHY she is doing what she's doing. So many girls delude themselves into thinking it is their ONLY option. It would be an in your face realization that it clearly is NOT the only option. Abortion just is more convenient and "easy" for the woman. She doesn't have to carry the baby for 9 months, her body isn't compromised, her life isn't inconvenienced as it would be if she went ahead with the pregnancy and gave the baby up. Abortion is a selfish choice---plain and simple. If you choose it at least be honest with yourself about the options you are NOT taking and WHY.

I doubt the people who are at the abortion clinic are interested in putting their child up for adoption anyway. Did you know that some mothers who choose adoption actually get paid? Shoot, if they don't want to get paid then I doubt they'll care if someone was holding up a sign.

Nothing, it's been done before...along with aborton clinic bombings which only resulted in killing the women (as well as pregnancies) and one clinic bombing I am particularly close to as it involved a friend who is a pediatrict dentist. He had HIS practice in the same buidling as a Obgyn. The only thing was that the "Pro Lifers" didn't do their research very well otherwise they would have known that no abortions were ever done at that clinic. (it was a pro life clinic DUH)yes they referred patients to other clinics. Anyway one of the pro life fanatics (I like to call them terroists) walked in on the wrong side and placed the bomb inside the dental clinic, When the police had gotten there it had killed two three year olds and a four year old who had been part of a day care field trip to learn about the dentiist...one of the three year olds was the dentist's own son, his wife also perished in the bombing as she was one of the care givers at the day care facility the dentist was injured but not severely as he was tending to an older patient. If you are against abortion don't have one. If you want to adopt then go through the proper channels. BTW on the news that night the head of the pro life movement said that the deaths that occured at the clinic that day were worth saving at least one from being aborted...when he was told that it was a Pro Life Obgyn all he did was shrug his sholders.
PS...sorry for my tirade but I'm just tired of the Pro Life propaganda, it's not as benevolent as they would like you to be gullible enough to believe.

i think that holding up signs might actually help the girls getting an abortion recalculate their choice and maybe save a few babies because the would realize that a lot of people want to adopt.
on the other hand, some of the girls may not want to go through the nine months of people judging them, in most cases, for being young and pregnant.
it all really depends on the type of people you're dealing with.

Okay this is going to be long but just bear with me please? My best friend and I were in Walmart about 6 months ago when we saw this older lady wearing this awesom pro-life shirt. Well we went up and asked her where she got her shirt from and she told us it was from our local right to life chapter. We started talking about abortion and things and she told us what she had experienced. She said that she had been volunteering at the right to life one evening when a girl about 16 or 17 came in. The girl said she wanted information on abortion. The older lady said that they don't give out information on abortion. She also told her what abortion did and asked the lady to give the baby up for adoption instead. Well, the young girl got mad and said that she didn't care, she was getting an abortion anyways. Three years later, a lady walked into the right to life with a little boy that looked about 2 years old. The lady asked the older woman if she remember her. The older woman said sorry but she didn't. The younger lady then told her that she saved her son's life three years before. She also said that if it weren't for the older lady talking her out of an abortion, she wouldn't have had her son. She thanked the older lady, gave her a hug, and walked out the door.
I got cold chills when she told me this story. I started crying once I left walmart and got into my van. Even though it's not the exact way as you described, that lady still saved an innocent baby. The way I see it, if you can save just one life, you have done your part. Good luck.

If they actually did that, (which I've never seen or heard of before) they would gain a lot more credibility from me and probably a lot of other people than they currently get by creating hit lists and asking people to murder doctors who perform abortions. (It's okay to murder a doctor who performs abortions, but it's not okay to "murder" an unborn child? Where is the logic in that?)

Why don't they adopt some of the thousands of children already in the crappy foster care system? I'm sure those kids would really like to have families and parents and stable homes, instead of getting bounced around from place to place.
