Ok, I heard that they are wanting to or have passed a bill to allow children of illegal immigrant parents to apply to stay in the U.S. once they are 18 and attend 2 years of college or 2 years of military? is this true? (I hope so there are so many kids that did not choose to come to this country and once they turn 18 are finding out that they have no where to go, and can not get a job) I do not agree with illegals coming to this country, but it is the children that are getting caught up in this. Let me know what you have heard? thank you.

It has been around, it is the DREAM act, which is currently a stand alone bill. It removes a current barrier to states letting illegal immigrants have in state tuition, and gives them a path to citizenship after graduation. The military is a new twist I hadn't heard of, but not inconsistant, I guess. The problem is that there is not enough college funding and discounts to go around. What is given to them is not available to our children, who have more right to their country's resources. I'm in favor of everyone having a good education, but not at someone illegally here making it harder for my own children to get one in their own colleges.

However, you didn't ask our opinion, but status. This act was rolled into the Senate Bill last year, but now some who supported the Senate Bill (like Diane Feinstein) are saying maybe it is 'too big' and they will tinker with things like the Dream Act. My concern beyond the one I stated is that it will encourage more prospective parents to come illegally 'for the sake of the children', something which, being understandable is also entirely predictable and excellent reason not to have this bill, in my opinion. I hope if it is passed it at least only will apply to those already enrolled in school, who are screened and are free of gang connections, and would not apply to new people who come in the future.

There is a good chance that the Dream Act may happen this year. From what I've heard, it has a lot of support this year. I hope that if nothing else gets passed regarding the immigration reform, this does.

Oh yes and DAR,

This would only help those students already in the U.S. so there is no need to worry about new immigrants coming into the country because of it.

I am sure they are coming to this country for a better life. What concerns me is they get the best doctors, dentist or what ever they need and the American people are paying for it an the American people can not get any help. Look at what bank of america is doing giving illegals credit cards loans with out and American ID they are promoting illegal immigration. The Mexican people did not own this land the spanish came here and raped the inker Indian women they were cast outs and that is how mexicans came about. And if our own President can not protect the American People who can.
