well parents learn from their experience in life . and when a dear one is concern about you. you should try to take your mothers advice or if you can make your own decisions then tell her kindly OK i will try to learn them.and you should never use kind of words which may hurt your mothers feelings.

Well I definetly believe that she is wrong for telling you not to trust people from a certain country. Now if we are talking about a particuar person then maybe yes but if she is generalizing then she is wrong. And you shouldn't say stuff like Bullsh*t and stuff like that because the less she is going to let you trust someone. Trust me im 16 and I know that by yelling at your parents gets you nowhere.

Perhaps your approach was a bit dramatic. My dad is a bit prejudice, too, so I know where you're coming from. I'm not sure how stubborn your mom is, but my dad is extremely stubborn. So, my advice assumes the same. Either be stubborn back and be direct, respectful, and calm when saying you don't agree with her and will not agree with her in the future or (if you must) listen quietly, nod once or twice, and just listen to her and have a smile to yourself later at how wrong you know she is. When you just can't get a parent to stop giving advice you know you just don't agree with, I find sometimes it makes them feel better if you let them talk.

I'm curious as to what country she was speaking of. My grandpa always said not to trust black people or Mexicans. I'll admit, I don't trust mexican MEN (every one I met has been a pervert), but I've had mexican female friends. As for blacks... well, I live with and am dating a black guy, so that lesson never affected me. lol

You were right to disagree with her prejudice, but wrong to use profane language to her.
