You can boil water in a pot and cover your head with a towel BUT you need something that will get deep into your pores and clean the grime out. The best product is the Bee-Luscious Cosmetics Medicated Acne Peel you rub it in the affected area it is a scrub that has tough acne and black head fighting ingredients . Also use the Minimizing Toner to seal and shrink your pores after you clean the dirt and grime out.

You can boil some water in a pan, and then put your face over it with a towel draped over your head so the steam doesn't get out. You stay there for 5 minutes or so. Just be careful not to burn yourself. It should feel hot but not burn you. Your pores will open wide. This is as far as the 'steamer' goes. But i have found that just steaming doesn't get rid of them. When the pore is open squeeze gently, or run your nails firmly, but gently through your nose, being careful not to hurt yourself. All the gunk will be collected in your finger nails. I know its gross, but it works. Ten afterwards use a blackhead scrub of your choice. Then dab on an astringent to close the pores. Finish off with moisturizer.
Hope this helps! I too, hate stubborn black heads!

Don't bother with a steamer. Blackheads come easy when you have a thick layer of skin that should be exfoliated. Keep the top layer peeled to reveal your fresh skin underneath and you won't get blackheads. Do a peel twice a year. Here's the product I use. Don't worry about the scary picture. It doesn't have to be that bad if you use the product more wisely.

For maintainance between peels, get a good mask that you can use a couple of times a week to keep oils pulled toward the surface. This system rocks! I've been using it for six years. Have tried lots of other stuff, but haven't found anything better yet.

Feel free to contact me regarding the peel. 16 years of experience here. I could help a lot. Here's to healthy skin!

I use proactiv too and it helped my pimples but not my blackheads. I have bad blackheads on my nose too. I just read in the March issue of seventeen magazine about how to get rid of large pores(which are probably the reason for your blackheads)and it said to try the new Dove Skinvitalizer which is $12 at drugstores. I havent tried it yet but i use dove soap and bodywash and they are good for my sensitive skin so i think that the Dove Skinvitalizer will work. Hope my advice helps you!
ps-if u want other tips for skin problems just buy the march issue of seventeen magazine which is now in stores!

Cheapest steamer available
A bowl of hot water & a towel.
Just fill bowl with hot water, put your head over it and place a towel over your head and the bowl.
No need to splash out on a special one, only real expense is if you want to buy some medicinal oils to put in the water.

Well, my advice is to just leave it there and just wash your face with the same soap you have been using for your acne. If you pop it then its just gonna make it worse and leave a spot on your face. You just have to live with the fact that blackheads are a natural cause.
