Here is an example which serves as a general overview...
Pontiac had a few boat loads of GTOs left to sell. Pontiac dealers and the general public knew the car was not selling well, and the line had already been cancelled.
They gave dealers the opprotunity to 'tag' some of the leftovers (I did tag a nice orange one for a customer), which got rid of some of them. They promised solstice GXPs to some dealers if they agreed to take GTOs, that got rid of some more.
The rest went into the corporate fleet, and 45 days after that went to wholesale auction. So many GTOs with only a few hundred miles went through the dealer only sales at Manheim, Odessa, and others...
Sadly, I discovered the auction sales at the very end, and missed out on the low mile '06s...
