that we are actually some form of alien (actually, that > I < am an alien) that has obnoxiously long dreams, and that every sensation you ( I ) experience is an illusion? no matter how unlikely it would seem, is it possible?

i say "I" because if it were true, then every thing that i am currently experienceing on this world, including you, would be an illusion. my own conciousness is the only one i know 100% exists.

What makes you think that the "I" you refer to as your consciousness exists 100%? Perhaps that sense of "I" or the ego-self is something you have constructed over the course of your development, but ultimately it creates an artificial sense of separateness from the world around you.

Thought about it before. But whether it's true or not, does it make a difference in my actions? Don't see the point in thinking circles about our existence, I simply exist.

Ok, let's say it's possible. Then what? I am free from all responsibilities, because all that I am "experiencing", is simply a dream. I don't have to do anything. I can do anything I please. Sorry, but then if everybody did that, then it is highly possible that this dream experience I am "having" at the moment will turn exceedingly unpleasant. Basically, it's a bit... shall we say... it's a bit of a slacker's mindset, that idea. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

If it's not possible... doesn't affect me much. I don't see any change in the world around me. It'd make a nice story to keep older kids around the hearth fire entertained, but other than that... I suppose you could say it's a piece of creativity boredom spawned.

it is one of life's longest running philosophical questions. It started with a group in Greece called the "Skeptics" (not quite the same as we use the word today). I'm not going to deny the possibility, but let's turn this around, just for fun. What if your own consciousness...the one you know 100% exists is really just a smaller part of another being's consciousness? What I mean is...what if your consciousness is only one dream that one being experiences for one night and that you were created by his imagination? Or maybe, your consciousness is just one part of the personality of a schitzophrenic person?

I dont' really believe anything I just said...I just wanted to have a little bit of fun thinking about it.

WOW. That is some kind of strange.
No, you are not an alien, neither am I.
It is not possible.

Don't know who you are talking to or what you are reading, but I suggest you pick up the Bible and see if that will clear your mind.

I used to think that too... that what if.. everything i see.. and that happens to me.. is fictatious... and im my true self is somewhere just lying motionless.... i was like... but then that means everyone else must be like that........cuz you cant be just one person and no one else.. and for that to be true.. would be very very complex to think about... so i went back to my normal life...
