I'm interested in putting on calf muscle - trying to make them larger, and more defined.
How do I go about doing this?
I have two 10 lb weights (heaviest I have). Would going up on my toes holding these weights for a couple sets of 50 reps every other day do anything over the course of a few months?

Or... would it be better to do heavier weight at the gym for fewer reps - maybe 150lbs for 20 reps or something?

All you have to do is stand, and step on your tippy toes, and then come back down. And up again, and down. Over and over and over again, pretty quickly. You will notice changes. 50 reps might not be enough...since you'll eventually get used to it. So when it becomes too easy, then amp it up.
As for weights, I'm not sure if they help. I mean, you are, in a way, gaining 20 pounds, but I think without weights will work fine too.

The on the toes thing works, but do it off the edge of a step so that your heel comes down below the rest of your foot. Its a better work out. Running will help your calves get more cut, but it won't do much for bulk.

Sure, but it would be better if you went to your local gym and started doing some calf extensions, because I don't think 10 lbs will do it since you're a man. Or just start running.

Go up on your tip toes, and repeat... Or you can hang your heels over the edge of a step and lift up on your toes..repeat
