I just bought a vista upgrade about 2 weeks ago, and now i'm selling my computer so i'll be getting rid of vista too. (i'd like to take the memory i added to my computer out though so vista wont run on it after i remove the extra RAM) anyway, i just want to know if i can sell vista separately , or wont it activate on a different computer?

Vista can only run off of one IP Address but can run off of MANY computers. Vista cannot be resold back to Microsoft but if you did get the upgrade, I can promise that you will make semi-sub retail value.

I would sell it now because it has been lowering value everyday since they admitted they were making it "MAC OS X based" in terms of similarities.

That claim is by some that Windows Vista emulates specific features in Apple's Mac OS X. Scott Spanbauer of PCWorld jokes about a perceived "striking similarity" between Vista's Aero visual effects, icon design, buttons and those of Mac OS X's Aqua. Paul Thurrott of WindowsITPro made similar comments in his review of build 5308, while also suggesting that some of the new applications "appear to be directly, ahem, influenced by similar applications in OS X." John Rizzo of eWeek has noted that Vista is incorporating features which OS X has had for some time, such as fast searching and Smart Folders functionality. This has led some to perceive that Aero is an imitation of Aqua. Apple was keen to highlight the similarities during the keynote presentation at the Worldwide Developers Conference in August 2006, with Bertrand Serlet showing screenshots of Vista and OS X side-by-side. However, many features including the Windows Sidebar and Search features were included and/or introduced in early alpha versions of Vista before Apple released the features in Mac OS 10.4. Both Vista's Sidebar and Mac OS X's Dashboard share similarities with Konfabulator (now owned by Yahoo.) The application is still available from Yahoo under the name Yahoo! Widget Engine.

Vista is defaulted at auto activate in 3 DAYS, So UNLESS you changed the Auto setting, it's already activated.

Although, *IF* you REMOVE Vista from the computer before selling it, it would be considered legal to sell Vista.

HOWEVER, I am not aware of Microsoft's procedure for such once it's been activated......

Here's a link on how to DELAY Vista Activation......
