He found out he had a huge tumor in one lung. The docs said they would remove it and he would be cancer free. It did not spread and they removed it with no problem. Now they want him to go through chemo. They say there is no cancer anywhere in his body yet the doc says he would still place bets that my dad will die of lung cancer... Why would he say that? If they removed it and there is no cancer left why would he need chemo and still probably die from it? He never smoked...

Even after removing the cancerous tumor, their is a posibility that there are some cancerous cells left. If left untreated, the cells can mulitply and cause cancer in other organs, such as his remaining lung. Chemo is a good way to try and wipe out any remianing cancerous cells in his body.

They are just trying to cover all the bases. The choice is up to your dad whether he wants the chemo. He doesn't have to take it. It depends on how old he is. If he has some age on him, maybe he wouldn't live long enough for the cancer to come back.
Who knows what will happen? It just a risk thing. Do you know what 's involved in the chemo treatments.? How long they last? The side effects, etc? Loss of hair?

I'm sorry to say this, but lung cancer has about a 2% survival rate. Even if the cancer was removed, it's quite possible there could be a recurrence. And chemo would be one way to catch any small bits of cancer that may still be present. It is standard practice to have chemo after the surgery, even if they can't find any more cancer. There's the possibility that there is, but too small to find.

There is always a slim chance that the cancer could come back and attack the other lung.
I think it was kind of rude for him to say that, but there is a slim chance that he could die from lung cancer. Just hope for the best and pray that everything will turn out for the best, it is such a tragic thing when non smokers get lung cancer.

seems like they found out that the cancer was genetic, and it will definately return..So they want to do chemo to kill any pre cancer....and if there isnt any pre cancer..they still dont want to take chances..to be honest..its just a way to get more money from you....but thats dangerous what they are doing...they could destroy whats left of his half lung....i suggest a natural treatment...
Go and take some cesium chloride with rubidium and DMSO. Also take some oxygen drops, and ip6 pills. Also, take an aloe vera plant, a fresh one from the local floral shop, and cut off their pricks. Then cut off a chunk and put it into a blender. Put some vanilla ice cream into it. This is going to be extremely bitter so just gulp it down. Do this maybe 3 times a week for about a week or two. This should take care of you and kill any remaining cancer you may have left in your body. The oxygen drops helps your body take in more oxygen and nothing more. PS..The aloe vera is a natural cure that alot of people can get a hold of extremely fast. Its cheap and available at any flower shop or nursery...Just grab one as soon as possible...while you wait for the other medicines to get to your door..
