get him to the vet. May be something pretty simple like an infected anal gland. Could be where he/she ate something that is stuck inside. Could be a serious problem. Take the poor thing to the vet for some help.

Take it to vet if its a lot of blood. If its mucus type blood, yourdog may have worms..

Could be: parvo, infected/ruptured anal sac, severe worm infestation, IBD (irritable bowel syndrome), infection, food allergy, foreign body, tumor...
Only way to tell is to take your dog to the veterinarian.
