Whatever you do,,do not use your home phone! Use you cell phone and pay for a calling card. Search around for the best calling card. The one I like is Cell Phone International Calling, 1-800-706-2143. You don't have to use a pin for each call, and the service is excellent! The minutes immediately goes onto your cell phone, so there's no expire time. Just call the number and it will tell you how many minutes you have and then call the person. Once you enter the phone number it will let you know how many minutes you have for this call. Another feature I like is it lets you know when the last minute is about to end the call.
Also I understand that Skype is another good company and you can call directly from your laptop computer. Google should be able to give you more information about it! Please try to avoid using your home phone. Although, your phone company or provider my brag on international calls. Once you make these calls you are lock in to how many minutes they said you had use! Good luck.

SKYPE! my boyfriend is a 6 hour time difference away and skype has saved my life. and probably our relationship. we only see each other about every 4 months so skype (which is a chat with audio and video capabilities) has been invaluable

What about skype? All you need are speaker and microphone. Free too, and also the best.
