Big Crunch? Big Freeze? What do you think?

I'm going for cosmic crunch, since the Qu'ran says:

"The Day that We roll up the heavens like a scroll rolled up for books (completed),- even as We produced the first creation, so shall We produce a new one: a promise We have undertaken: truly shall We fulfil it. (Quran, 21:104)"

According to the Vedic literature there will be a great fire burning up everything in the universe. Great souls will leave the universe and enter into the spiritual kingdom. Those that remain will remain in mystic slumber, yoga nidra, until the universe is again created.

See Srimad Bhagavatam for details.

Psalms 37:29 says the earth abiding forever.
This Universe is so huge and we are but a speck. Would any super power go to so much trouble to create this universe then change all his plans because one creation who was small and insignificant chose to do wrong? Maybe the first two sinned and fell short but many more haven't. Why would Abraham and Noah not receive a resurrection to this earth?
One day mankind will people all the planets in the Universe.
This is only the beginning.

The Big Rip. http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/big_rip_030306.html

"A rather harrowing new theory about the death of the universe paints a picture of "phantom energy" ripping apart galaxies, stars, planets and eventually every speck of matter in a fantastical end to time."

Talk about going out with a bang.

Of course that's just one way it could end, I don't think scientifically we have enough data yet to determine exactly how it will happen. You could very well be right about the Big Crunch Adia Arek.

Now as far as my religion goes... (seeing how I notice most of the folks here are posting what their religion teaches.)

Ragnarök is the "Twilight of the Gods", it is the final battle to be fought against the Gods of the Aesir and the heroic dead, against Loki, the frost giants, and the forces from Hel's realm, in which just about everyone and everything, including the Gods are killed and the Nine Worlds are ripped asunder. So it kind of fits with the Big Rip. But a new world will arise and not all the Gods are killed, two of Thor's sons, and two of Odin's, are destined to survive the conflict.

With a fervent heat.

I Peter 3:10-12
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

The fate of the universe is the subject of much debate and research among astronomers, and the jury is definitely still out. The earth, however, will end on April 1, 5,000,000,147 CE, when the sun, having run out of hydrogen fuel in its center, turns into a red giant and eats the earth.

Universe will not end but life on earth will end because man has destroyed nature.Hence nature will take revenge.I think that life will come to an end due to high temperature, scarcity of drinking water, pollution and toxic air.

That is way beyond anybody's imagination. You need not worry about the end of the universe, as the end of our earth is hard enough to ponder.

I don't think it will, I think everything will just keep recycling. That's not to say that it might not die out, but I don't think the universe will disappear... That's like trying to comprehend and imagine nothing which is impossible to do. lol
