I am 5'6'' and 174lbs. A week ago from today, i weighed 185lbs. I lost 11 pounds in one week!. All I did was ate no more than 1300-1400 calories and did 500 push-ups and an hour of walking a day. Did I burn fat or something else....?

when carbohydrates are restricted there will always be an associated loss of water weight. this is why the first week of "dieting" always yields the most drastic results on the scale.

not quite sure where you came up with 1,400 cals but that is way to low. go to the website below to find out how many cals you should be getting. then reduce 500 cals a day for fat reduction

You are on the right track. But you are losing weight too rapidly, ie you are losing muscle and you are destroying your body. You must eat more than 1400 cals. But its good that you are walking and doing pushups.

Try to lose 2-3 pounds each week instead.

You did lose a lot of water weight. That is normal when you first start a diet. You should slow down to about 2 lbs. a week. That is healthy and normal weight loss. So don't give up.

Congratulations!
