usually hand reared birds are bonded to their owners. If you get a mate for you bird the likely-hood of his whistling more and not talking would increase.
if you bird is happy now why try to fix something that is not broken?

Birds are like people. They don't always get along. You may find if you decide to get another bird that they fight. You won't know until after the 30 day quarentine. Most stores and breeders won't take a bird back, so you would then have two birds living in two seperate cages.
There is also the possibility of them breeding. If you are not well researched and prepared, this can cost you the life of one bird.
Think also about the cost of the extra food, a new larger cage, more toys and more vet care. If one bird in a cage is sick, the other is probably sick as well.

An hour or 2 of dedicated time will be effective. in case you are able to talk over with him for a minute each and anytime you walk by technique of which could be reliable too.you are able to make a couple of minutes the following and there . upward thrust up 10 minutes early to feed and talk over with him before you flow to school. it is a significant legal responsibility you're taking on. in case you do not intend to take the time do not get the chook. The chook will desire you to have a tendency to it even if you've no longer something else to do or there's a huge party occurring.

that depends, is your cockateil unhappy now?
if you have 2 birds in the same cage, they will often end up bonding with each other and not liking you at all. if you really think that your little bird is unhappy, try to fix it. new toys, more play time, a daily bath and fun food treats (like dry fruit wrapped thickly in a paper towel and tied on the ends with jute twine). he may be bored, cockateils are intelligent birds. i wouldnt resort to getting another bird unless you have tried these things.
good luck!

My first one, Nattie, was hand reared too and when I got my other one, Turkish, they were wary of each other for a while but now they're inseperable. I think it's a good idea cause they have someone with them when they're in the cage at night and when you're not home. Nattie is still just as affectionate towards me but now she's never lonely.

Don't do anything different than you are doing now. It could be a mistake to introduce another bird. As long as you give you bird attention, a mirror is all the extra company your birds needs.

tiels should be kept in pairs like any other bird. it is not true that they will bond to each other and not you. make sure that the other bird is handfed too.
