This damn thing is wearing me out. It's like painting a dozen separate paintings on one canvas. I almost wish I hadn't started it.

What do you think of it so far?

Bob Dylan, Martin Luther King, Jackson Pollock , beatnik poets, a vintage television set, Route 66 and oil companies will be added before this is finished.

It is sort of a family album of America during the 50s and 60s.

Rhubix, it IS UNFINISHED. The white box is waiting for me to paint in the Pollock. There will be multiple colors in that panel. As to the red in Alfred E. Neuman's hair and shirt I couldn't imagine using any other color but red. There will also be red in the Phillips 66 sign, as well as in the Pollock panel. But thank you for your imput. The Dylan panel and King panel will be white on black. The television panel will look like a black and white photo of a black and white television from the 50s.

not looking at teh subject at all some of the things that might be making your image look un-unified.
1. the boarders. It's good that you put them on all the images but at the same time it is dividng all the images.
2. One image is Red. just like if I put one workd in CAPITALS it stands out. One red image will stand out in a sea of blue /green ones
most of the images have black backgrounds. Some have white ones, one is just a big white rectangle.
If your going to have some white and some black panels make sure to include that when your deciding on your compostition place them strategicly.
I think once you finish the image, if you add a few more colors or get rid of the red and brighter blue one. it will become more unified as a whole.
