I mean does it matter if the wife gets the "Tubal ligation" or husband gets a vasectomy? We are going to live our lifes together and say we have all the children we want, is it an important topic?

The "experts" will tell you for the Man to get it done.

It is a fact that it's alot easier to do the procedure on a man and the recovery time is shorter.

Simply based on my personal experience, I would tell you BOTH to get it. If you are serious about not having any more children.

Why, you might ask?

Well, a year and a half after my vasecomy... My wife was pregant again. I went back to the doctor to be tested and sure enough it had reveresed itself.

I went and had the procedure repeated, and my wife got her tubes tied at the time of delivery.

I checked into it and it happens more than the "experts" would like to admit.

Just remember, having a woman's tubes tied is not 100% either.

Yes it does. A vasectomy is the most cost effective form of birth control.

If he got a vasectomy on Friday, he would be back to work on Monday. He would be fully functional in 4 days. A vasectomy is quick and simple.

If you choose to get female sterilization, you will be off work for at least 3 weeks, and not fully functional for about three weeks after that. The surgery is much more involved.

Some men have problems. But that is only psychological. A vasectomy can’t physically harm you. It is no more traumatic than a trip to the dentist, or getting a tattoo.

that is a decision that must be made by the couple involved. generally speaking it is easier for a male to get a vasectomy. the procedure is relatively quick and requires less healing time than a tubal ligation. it is also a bit less expensive. if you want something reversible (in case you change your mind) ten ou should see your doctor and discuss options. this is definitely an important topic that 2 people who decide to live their lives together must discuss.

It's much easier for the man do have a vasectomy, and it
actually only takes about 15 minutes to have it done. The
man dosen't feel anything because the area is frozen. After
the man may feel a little sore, but it only lasts a day or so.

For the woman, your talking about a much bigger procedure, and
the recovery time is at least several weeks or more.

My boyfriend had it done last year, and even though he was
nervous he was glad he did it and said it was so no big deal.
It's not like it was years ago. This is a non scalpal surgary.

This is a much debated topic & important too. The debate was never conclusive. So from my own logic experiance & knowledge I can tell you that better choice is vesectomy. Because in case of tube ligation or tubactomy their are chances of harmonal distrees in the body of the female.

It's an easier operation on the man , then it is for the woman. A man can have it done in a dr office and go home soon after, where a woman has to be hospitalized for it and some make them stay a night. Also if you have little children, it will be harder for the mother to lift them and take care of them.

It is a simpler procedure for a man to have a vasectomy. Only if a women is having a C-section then would it be a opportune time to have her tubes tied.

For the man, it is just an out patient proceedure. Can even be done in the office.
For the woman, she must undergo general anesthesia, be in a hospital, AND there are side effects for women, such as SUPER heavy periods after..
Men, no side effects whatsoever.

If you change your mind and decide to have more, reversal is SO easy for the man, risky for the woman.
the man just has to get over thinking it will effect his sexuality in any way. It won't!

Why would either of them want to mutilate their bodies? That's what it is. Taking a healthy functioning organ and making it useless. For what it matters, the vasectomy can be reversed, I've never heard of that for the woman.

It's something you both should sit down and talk about. They are both really hard to reverse so you better be sure. It's up to you two to decide who should get the operation. If you are the one who is more adamant about not having more kids, then you should get the surgery.....and if it's your wife, then she should get it. Just makes sense.
