I went to delete some stuff off the computer and just as I was finishing up, I wanted to simply empty recycle bin. I wasnt paying attention and I accidently deleted the recycle bin! How do I get it back? Thanks.

Oh i should clarify- just as I was thinking to myself- "this has never happened to me before" I realized why...I have windows vista and when you right click on the RecBin, it actually shows an option to delete it. How stupid! I found an article about that online- apparantly Im not the only vista user who has done this!

Heres the message on the windows help webpage:

Editor's note: When you right-click on the Recycle Bin icon in Windows Vista RTM, there is a Delete option. Because of this, users may be tempted to click the Delete entry in an attempt to empty the Recycle Bin. That may be why the Recycle Bin icon disappeared in the first place.

Not a problem. You need to download a free program from Microsoft called "PowerToy Tweak UI. The download page is (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx) or the direct download link is (http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c/a/fca6767b-9ed9-45a6-b352-839afb2a2679/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe)

Download and install the program. Next, start the program and click on "Desktop." Place a check next to all the icons you want to appear on your desktop > [Apply] > [O.K.] > Restart.

You can get it back if you use a system restore backup. This is what you do with Windows XP running system:

1: Click the Start Button
2: Click on Control Panel
3: Click on Performance and Maintenence
4: Off near the upper-left corner of your screen, you'll see System Restore
5: Choose "Restore My Computer To An Earlier Time."

Then, you choose the closest restore point to the present date and get it going. Your computer will take a lot of time restoring it back to where it was before, and you may have to delete a prior backup to get your hard drive space back, because it WILL take up a good part of your hard drive, but you'll have your recycle bin back.
