I am dating someone that is 25 years older than.....b4 u go there, it is definitely not for the money....I really really love him and my family with the exception of my parents......are total ***holes about us.....little do they know, I have been knowing this guy since I was 17 yrs old....we've been dating for 5 years now and he makes me laugh......i'm now 30 yrs old we have the best times....even sex.......people always stare at us or may make a smart commit....My instinct tells me to slap the sh*t out of them but people are entitled to their opinions but family is suppose to be different. Do I ignore them or curse then out?

I dated a guy who was 19 years older than me for about 5 years. I was 28 at the time and he was 47 at the time. It was one of the best relationships I had. We ended things but only because for us it was never going to lead to marriage. But he is still one of my best friends.

You're 30, old enough to make your own decisions. If you were young and doing it for the wrong reasons I would say listen to them. But I think you are doing it for the right reasons. Don't give up on something you want or love, you may never get it back.

If you enjoy his company don't worry about what others think. I would advise you to think long and hard about what lies down the road however. Health issues, declining sex drive, whether or not you want children with this man, how old he will be when you are trying to raise a family. That is just a partial list of things to consider. It is one thing to date a man that is 25 years your senior - its an entirely diffenent thing to marry someone that much older unless you want to be a nurse in the future.
