Fruit and vegetables are a main dish if you want them to be.
They have the vitamins and minerals that your system requires.
Protein is also in natural plant food, in small amounts.
It's all in the manner in which you serve the dish.
Condiments and dressings are a great food enhancer.

Sure. I often have a large salad as a dinner meal. Like chopped egg and feta in it. I also like to mix in cut segments of orange, diced apple, walnuts or pecans. Very healthy.
Sometimes, I will drain and express the water from water packed tuna and add it to the salad.
As to above answer: You do not have to have protein at every meal. Where's the law. We generally eat too much protein in the US. If you feel you must have protein, the nuts, cheese, eggs add protein.

Its fine for a main dish. There is nothing wrong with it at all. You probably get more protein and carbs than you need anyhow. Far healthier than steak and potatos. Enjoy yourself.

Sure, it can be, but I agree - you need to balance all those carbs with some proteins. If you are a vegetarian, I would have some cottage cheese or tofu with it - then it's a balanced meal.

No. Not if it's just fruit or vegetables. Where's the protein? You HAVE to have protein at every meal.
