ISLaAM is the fastest growing religion in the world. Because Islam is a complete way of life. It tells man about the purpose of his creation and existence, his ultimate destiny, his place among other creatures and more importantly, it provides him with guidance to lead a balanced and purposeful life which will enable him to avoid the Hell-fire and be rewarded with a place in Paradise in the life after death. Simply Islaam is to "Obey Allah" (Allah is the Name of the Only One True God). Islaam is a verb in Arabic (a doing word). The one who does Islaam is called a Muslim. (Allah calls us "Muslims" in His Speech of Qur'ân).

I was going to stay out of this one, but i have to reply to Judy_r8.....

The second-largest religion in the world after Christianity, Islam is also the fastest-growing religion. In the United States, for example, nearly 80 percent of the more than 1,200 mosques have been built in the past 12 years.

Some scholars see an emerging Muslim renaissance as Islam takes root in many traditionally Christian communities.

Islam has drawn converts from all walks of life, most notably African-Americans. Former NAACP President Benjamin Chavis, who joined the Nation of Islam recently, personifies the trend.

Catholic extermination camps
Surprisingly few know that Nazi extermination camps in World War II were by no means the only ones in Europe at the time. In the years 1942-1943 also in Croatia existed numerous extermination camps, run by Catholic Ustasha under their dictator Ante Paveli笠a practicing Catholic and regular visitor to the then pope. There were even concentration camps exclusively for children! In these camps - the most notorious was Jasenovac, headed by a Franciscan friar - orthodox-Christian Serbians (and a substantial number of Jews) were murdered. Like the Nazis the Catholic Ustasha burned their victims in kilns, alive (the Nazis had victims gassed first). But most of the victims were simply stabbed, slain or shot to death, the number of them being estimated between 300,000 and 600,000, in a rather tiny country. Many of the killers were Franciscan friars. The atrocities were appalling enough to induce bystanders of the Nazi "Sicherheitsdienst der SS", watching, to complain about them to Hitler (who did not listen). The pope knew about these events and did
nothing to prevent them.

Jerusalem conquered 7/15/1099 more than 60,000 victims (Jewish, Muslim, men, women, children).

1648 Chmielnitzki massacres: In Poland about 200,000 Jews were slain.

Massacre of Sand Creek, Colorado 11/29/1864. Colonel John Chivington, a former Methodist minister and still elder in the church ("I long to be wading in gore" had a Cheyenne village of about 600, mostly women and children, gunned down despite the chiefs' waving with a white flag: 400-500 killed.

1860s, "in Hawaii the Reverend Rufus Anderson surveyed the carnage that by then had reduced those islands' native population by 90 percent or more, and he declined to see it as tragedy; the expected total die-off of the Hawaiian population was only natural, this missionary said, somewhat equivalent to 'the amputation of diseased members of the body'."

People hate Islam, and I dont just answering the question, because, esp in the US, it seems that religious Islamic leaders around the world are keeping silent against terrorism. If a terrorist action is being done in the name of your religion then you should be out there denouncing the act if the act is as evil as terrorism. It is also hard when the majority of palestinians in polls over and over again support suicide bombing, and lets fact it, palestinians are pretty much muslim. When the international islamic community takes a more active role in denouncing terrorism I think more and more people in the US will be more open to the Muslim faith.

and no, I am not saying all muslims are terrorists, so dont jump down that road

I have studied the Quran in a 400 level college class before along with research ever since. I found Islam to be a very dogmatic, ungodly, oppressive, violent, chauvinistic, arab, dishonest, anti-Christ, anti-social, facist, rigid, unhealthy, unbeneficial religion. Above all else it denies Jesus as the Son of God so it is a false Gospel.

Quran Surah IX:29 Fight against such of those who have been given the scripture (Christians and Jews) as believe not in Allah nor the last day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by his messenger, and follow not the religion of truth until they pay the tribute readily being brought low.

In the Qur'an 47:4, it says, "When you encounter the infidels, strike off their heads till you've made a great smote among them." And again,

2:193, "Fight therefore against them until the only worship be that of Allah."

That is really the defining characteristic of the Quran and Muhammads life itself; IT INCITES VIOLENCE and oppression. It teaches that violence and oppression against people that dont believe as you is a good and holy thing. That is why, sad to say, that most Muslims turn a blind eye to violence or secretly root for people like Osama Bin Ladin because they are committing the acts of violence their religion calls for but they themselves are not willing to do, especially after tasting of the prosperity of western civilization.

as a results of fact extremeists are what actual everyone seems to be acquainted with approximately and the media concentration on them. they provide islam a bad call. additionally the quran is extremely open to interpretation, so which you won't be able to fairly say who's right or incorrect while representing islam. additionally, those days, many muslims themselves look turning out to be extra non secular and probable fundamentalist, no longer for any religious motives yet maximum possibly as a results of fact the media is so concentrated on them. those human beings look to concentration on being insular and illiberal and each each and every now and then violent. that's for sure no longer real of maximum muslims, yet different persons consistently see this and that's inevitable that undesirable issues would be thought. I observed a documentary no longer earlier the place it confirmed how plenty society had replaced in cairo. once you walked down the line 30 years in the past actual everyone replaced into dressed in many situations, now lots of the ladies positioned on a hijab/veil. i will permit you think of approximately that for your self.

The squeeky wheel gets all the greese!

I don't hate Islam! I hate dominionism in religion, any religion. I believe in the seperation of church and state, and science and religion, any religion. I think extremism in any religion is very dangerous and quite ironic. Christianity has left a long and bloody trail as one example. So don't feel so isolated. Some of us know a bit of history.

I also reserve the right as a woman to express myself according to my own conscience, which by the way is quite sensitive.

As with any religion , if it teaches to respect all people regardless of their religion or life phylosophy, gender, age or colour and practisioners of that religion show respect for me, true respect not evangelical superficiality, I certainly would return that same respect.

Peace.

I do hate islam, though not muslims. I know enough about it to know it is a false religion, straight out of the pit of hell. It denies Christ as saviour, and so is false. It is no wonder if it is "flourishing", because it was prophisied that many will succomb to a deluding spirit in these last days.Is part of this "purposeful" life killing Christians and Jews wherever you find them, since this is commanded by allah in your "holy" book?

People misunderstand what Islam is all about because, the people who represent Islam are showing the world what kind of people Muslims are. People do not need to say anything... people are not stupid. They see, they observe , they analyse and conclude

Until the major countries who are representative examples of Islam can show the world majority a different evidence... the misunderstanding will continue.

People hear the theories of Harmony and Peace, but see the evidence and reality of War, Despair and Pain... the two do not match.

I have many Muslim friends who are NOTHING like the extremists, and so I am able to see.. YES, Islam can create in people a Peaceful loving Heart and a Harmonious joyful personality.... but for those who have not met any... what they can see inthe majority is the only evidence they will have to refer to.

( The Extremists do the same thing... they see Bush (et al) and all that he does, and they conclude that ALL Christians come from that mould... but in reality... is that so? )

The Koran (the Islamic bible) contains excerpts from/references to the Bible and teaches that every word that Jesus spoke was true. Some Moslems also acknowledge that Jesus is the Word (see John 1:1). However, they fall short in that they deny that Jesus is the Son of the Living God. It is a paradox, since any literal interpretation of the Koran should logically lead one to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord.

allah is NOT The One and Only True God of Christianity, so I don't care what he says. I know more about islam than I ever wanted to know and that's why I hate it. God told us to beware of things just like islam, false teachings. You deny Jesus as The Christ. You deny His Sacrifice for us all. God would NEVER do that. You have been misled.

May God Bless you.
