Stay away from puppy mills or pet shops. As there are great chances that the puppies will have many physical problems. Dogs from puppy mills are interbred and are not healthy. Pet shops buy a lot from puppy mills. I would say to do an on-line search for registered breeders of Maltese dogs. You could also look in newspapers, many papers can be accessed on-line as well. Call different veterinarians or boarding kennels. Good luck in your search, I hope this helps.

Real hard to find a small dog in a shelter up here let alone a pure bred Maltese. LOL
Try the link bellow and look for a breeder in the area.

You can go to puppyfind.com type the state or location you are looking in and it will give pictures of puppies and short description of the breeders and the pups for sale.Type in Maltese then once you get there in the right hand corner you will see location, there you type the state.Good Luck ,I believe pups should have companions too!!!!Hope this helped you!!

You know, it took me 8 months to find my 4.5 lb. little girl. We got her from PA.... from a breeder who lived on a horse farm. She is 5 years old, pure white and gorgeous..... but she wasn't cheap. We found our best luck at Maltese sites on the internet. You can research true breeders (not puppy farms) that turn out very healthy good dogs.
