I am babysitting my sisters, and one is 11. She thinks she can do anything she wants and I can't control her. Today she wanted to get ice cream when my mom strictly told me to only let her have 3 scoops, and she repeatedly got more scoops, more and more. So finally, I blocked the freezer, and not wanting to get in trouble myself, I was fending her off by kicking her. Well then she realized that made me mad, so she forgot the ice cream and followed me around and annoying me. Finally, she made me SO MAD so without thinking I grabbed her and had her in a headlock, telling her, DO NOT GET NEAR ME AGAIN!!!!!! She went biserck, without me even hurting her. She called my mom's cell phone, bawling uncontrollably, sobbing to my mom and leaving her a message that I repeatedly kicked, punched, choked, and "ripped off her jaw". Now when my mom gets home, she will not only get me in trouble for "hurting" my sister, but for letting her interrupt her date! What was I supposed to do?!

You don't say how old you are...so here goes...your sister does everything she can to make you mad and the madder she makes you, the more she likes it and will use it...so next time ignore her. I know it's hard, but do it anyway. Let her get in trouble for eating all the ice cream. She did it, make her responsible for it. Just tell your Mom the truth. (record your sister if you can to back you up). Don't touch her..don't yell at her..don't give her cause to make her act like the child she is...(and she's gonna be one for a few more yrs...)
If your Mom insists that YOU take care of your siblings, then she should be prepared for the back lash that follows. When you talk to your Mom..be mature about it, don't yell, don't tattle, don't whine...just straight out tell her what your sister does...and make HER be the Mom...
It's gonna be hard for awhile, till everyone gets the idea, but trust me...they all will...just stick with it !!! I know you can do it... ( I did and I'm much older than my brother and sister, 7-9 yrs older)
Good luck !!! [[[ ]]]

This is the questions you should address to your mom. Write this down, attach a rose it it and leave it on her bed.

Dear Mom,

You ask me to baby sit my sister and you gave me specific instructions not to allow her to have anymore than 3 scoops of ice cream, but she repeatedly go more and more. Therefore, following your instructions, so I wouldn't get into trouble I had to physically stop her! She got mad at me and began to an annoy me. The only thing I done to her was to put her into a headlock, and that's when she called you and lied. Therefore, I got into trouble for following your instructions.

Instead of spending effort time of bring my sister and I closer, I have good news for you. The next when you are on a date I won't take the responsibility babysitting her anymore. This way I won't be punish for her misbehavior! and your date will go the you wish. I feel sorry for whoever you do find.

This decision makes me happy because now I won't get into anymore trouble, and I have learned when I have kids, I am going to make sure that my children are close and to be fair when a problem arise. I won't punish my daughter if she was told specific instructions of what not to allow! I will remember this incident forever!

IF YOUR MOM WHATS TO TALK ABOUT IT, DO SO, BUT SPEAK FROM YOUR HEART AND LET HER KNOW HOW MUCH THIS SITUATION REALLY BOTHERS YOU!

IF YOU MOM DON'T MAKE AN EFFORT TO SENSIBILITY TALK ABOUT THIS, YOU KNOW WHAT TYPE OF MOTHER TO BE WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR OWN FAMILY.

ALWAYS LEARN FROM OTHER PEOPLE MISTAKES.KNOW YOU KNOW TO BE THE BEST MOM AND WIFE TO YOUR FAMILY. KEEP GOD IN YOUR HEART.

GOD BLESS

It might be a good idea to show your mom the question you just wrote for us to answer. Most parents would be understanding enough to know you had no options. Your mom needs to tell your sister to behave, that is not your job. Babysitting is so the children are not home alone in case of an emergency...medical, fire, or other... Personally, I'd use a roll of duct tape, but child protective services would probably frown about that.

Aww, don't ya hate those moments. Sounds like your sister needs her *** busted in a really big way.

Well, you shouldn't have kicked her. But I understand your frustration. She got a rise out of you because she knew she could, and before you knew it you had done grabbed her up.

If your going to be left in charge of that brat, you need to make it known beforehand to her that you are in charge. Talk to you mother about the way she acted, and ask you mother to talk to her the next time she goes out. And hope your mother makes it known what the ramifications are if she pulls it again.

Your sister sounds like mine when she was little. No one could control her. She's do the same things. I almost hated her at times. But surely there is someway to appease your sister without having a knock down drag out, that you will end up in trouble for?? Figure it out...compromise, swap out....share...something to bring some peace to your existence while you home alone with her.....

Umm, I had to go back and add this...

Maybe you should give her a taste of her own medicine. Annoy the hell out of her, so much so that she can't take it. Do unto others, as they do unto you....lol I know..makes ya wanna smack her really good! But be honest with your mother, cry if you have too...lol

Tell your mom the truth about what really happened. You didn't let you sister interrupt your moms date...Your sister is 11 years old...she knows right from wrong. She shouldn't have interrupted your moms date by calling her. Anyway...if you...like she says 'ripped off her jaw'....she won't be able to say anything to your mom because she won't be able to talk. :)
