Jesus is trying to get the point across that the pursuit of money is a barrier to someone coming to God. That trust in riches is not compatable with trust in God.

There is no evidence that the eye of the needle was a gate in Jerusalem. This is a case where people hear something and keep repeating it making everyone think its true.
I have no dog in this fight, as I am an atheist. I just like truth.

It's a narrow gate... camels had a hard time going through them. I think they had to get down in an uncomfortable positions to crawl through the gates.

I have heard it said that it is a narrow gate just big enough for a man to walk through. A Camel would have to get down on its knees to get through. It was possible but very hard to train them to do, it was not very common to see it done.

Wherever your treasure is, that is where your heart is also. It is not about the size of the opening. Those who would make it bigger are trying to fudge the issue, an attorney's task. If you make personal fortune your treasure, you will miss the point of life and end up on your death bed a deeply saddened and empty soul having wasted your life to no purpose. Jesus taught people to open their hearts, while those is pursuit of money are always protecting themselves and their fortunes.

It kind of depends on whether your version of the the Bible calls for a rope or a camel to get through the eye. Also, most of my research Bibles call it hyperbole to make a point about the Rich. I have no Idea where your Shouter got his/her idea.

I always thought it meant a sewing needle, meaning that it was almost impossible for a rich man to go to heaven.
