"For" would mean "in payment of" in this instance. God required blood sacrifice all throughout the Old Testament for the sins of the Israelites, God's chosen people. Those outside of Israel, he left in their sins. Did this stop people from sinning? No, but new hearts have a different attitude toward sin. They recognize what it is, and where it will lead them if that sin is not forgiven.
Does Jesus' death allow sinners into heaven? Yes! However, although he had the capacity to pay for the sins of the entire world, his prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane was an indication of those he died for. He did not pray for the entire world! He prayed for those that the Father had given him, which would logically be the "new Israel" of those that would believe because the Father had chosen them, predestined them, and foreknown them as his own.
And, if Jesus did not pay for the sins of all of humanity, this means that the ones that the Father had not chosen would be left in those sins, not part of any covenant, not seeking Him out, and glorifying him anyway.

Jesus died for the sins of the world. for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. No His dying on the cross didn't stop us from sinning but it give one a chance to receive eternal life in heaven His death was the atonement for sin. Now obey the steps in Acts 2:38(be baptized in Jesus Name and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost) and you're on your way living the Christian life.

Yeah, died for our sins. Like what blondiebaptist said above, "The wages of sin is death." You just passed the point, yup, Jesus died as the punishment for everybody sinning.
It's like say... if it was some 50 years ago, and there were two brothers. The little brother did something wrong that made his dad quite mad at him. Dad wanted to whip little brother here. Big brother jumps in here and says: "Whip me instead, please, until you're satisfied." That's basically what Jesus is doing between us and God. :D

He beat death. Satan now could not just take you, you have a choice.
Jesus paid a debt we could not pay. Jesus died that our sins might be forgiven. You are born a sinner. After the fall and sin was brought into the world (for humans) we needed a savior. Sin separates us from God.
You will always sin. It isn't about perfection but progression.
God Bless

It's a Gift to you from God. It means; it depends on you what you want to do with the gift of life that he gave you. It means that he took all--lets say >your< sin--the lying, hateful, guiltfull, condemning, lustful, idolotry ect...upon himself for your sake. Mans tresspass is upon himself, it's not God hating us, for God is love. All we need to do is drop the guns, stop the bombs, and stop attacking each other and look to God instead. Jesus didn't die as "punishment", but that it had to be fulfilled to take away your misgivings. Money can't give this kind of gift, neither can man--only Jesus "got 'er done" --for you:)

We were all born with the sin nature because of the fall of Adam and Eve. We were in need of a savior to redeem us, Jesus paid the price for our sins, so we could be saved. If Jesus had not died for us, we would all go to hell, created for the devil and the fallen angels. The blood Jesus shed for us is the supreme sacrifice to pay for our salvation. We owe Him a debt of gratitude.

We are children of parents who committed an original sin. It left us in a fallen state. Jesus death restored us. His death opened heaven to all.
No we do not stop sinning because of our fallen nature but that doesn't mean we don't continue to love others and follow Jesus.

The wages of sin is death. We don't deserve to go to Heaven, but Jesus provided the way for us to go there. He paid the penalty for us, otherwise we'd be jumping thru hoops and hoping our "good works' took us there. By God's grace we are saved, and that in itself says volumes.

Jesus took every stroke of the whip so you would not have to.Jesus was nailed to a cross so you would not have to. Jesus shed His blood so you would not have to. Jesus died so you would not have to. Jesus went into the depths of hell so you would not have to. Jesus resurrected so you could have eternal life. Would you do the same?

you may comprehend John 3:sixteen yet there's a word it rather is the neccessary element, "that whosoever BELIEVES." then you fairly could desire to proceed to verse 17. Jesus accomplish the will for a value of judgement for sin. He replaced into THE fee for all mankind. It replaced right into a spiritual/guy (Adam) that lost our place with God. It had to be a spiritual/guy (Jesus) that regained it. It replaced right into a "rule" that basically went into play. God HAS to bypass by skill of the regulations in any different case he does no longer be a basically God. it rather is nearly a choose passing the sentence on a case and then stepping down from around the bench, commencing up his gown and then asserting to the bailiff, I take this persons place and settle for the sentence they are to get carry of. Then does it. in case you fairly make the worry to envision the finished Bible, you will see that God made a manner from the very begining that Adam lost all. He made a covenant with Adam, then with Eve. He made a persist with up with Noah, then persevered with Abraham, Issac and Jacob. He persevered while he informed Moses one in each and every of those Prophet that could come. He saved it up and going with David. Then even the different Prophets gave us tidbits of information and declared to us God's plan and words. We on no account decide for to pay attention nevertheless. to rather repent, one should be responsive to why we've a could desire to repent and from what. If Jesus on no account did die, he does no longer have been waiting to furnish us all a thank you to be an element of God and His plan for His advent. He bridged a gap that replaced into thank you to important for us to even attempt to bypass. there is not any way. The temptation revealed what Jesus had in thoughts too. He did no longer succomb to the devils tricks because of the fact He could have lost all of it in favour of ALL eternity to the devil and thats why he did no longer instruct himself to anybody. besides, many nevertheless does no longer have even believed that. The non secular rulers nevertheless needed their very own way and the Romans nevertheless had to invade....anybody! So it rather is a exceedingly unhappy tale, yet because of the fact of Jesus there's a great ending. We Win! AND We get to be with God for all eternity, IF we've self assurance and obey. God Bless
