We learn in church that God's knowledge is limitless.
Then we learn that he knows everything.

Can the unlimited be self contained (limited, known)?

Containing the uncontainable is impossible, for that imposes boundaries on that which has no bounds. Indeed, the 2 are a contradiction to each other. Finite infinity is not possible.

This impossible contradiction kills the authenticity of a living God.

In a nutshell:

Infinite knowledge becomes finite once it is known.
Knowing places a limit on it.

Example... If you start counting from 0 to however high you can reach, you will never reach that number, because if can go on infinitely.

What happens when you try to enumerate the last possible number and say whew, I do know it all now?

We see by this example, that you simply cannot know the last possible number, or it gives it a finite state of existence, since any number you name, no matter how high, can always be counted back to 0.

This is what I mean about infinite knowledge being uncontainable by God or it becomes finite.

Post 4 those who are STILL in the dark:

Bible says God is omnipotent knowing all.

You can't possess unfathomable knowledge that you fathom. Once it is fathomed (known) it is no longer unfathomable. Trying to say somethign is both finite & infinite at the same time, trying to say your knowledge is without limits, yet you know all, its unfathomable, but you fathom it.

That is nothing but :
-) a lie
-) because it is a contradiction
-) Impossible things cannot be done, or they cease being impossible & move into the possible arena. God cannot do the impossible, but only what is possible. Once God does it, it just proves it is possible, NOT impossible. The impossible can never truly be done.

Yes, how can you know everything when there are no limits? Hm?

Well, you didnt really mention anything about the Bible, just a recently popular misconception.

A few problems...

A. There is no such thing as infinity. That is just a theoretical construct that we have no knowledge of nor do we see any example of it in nature.

B. Even if there were and you label God "infinite" just because we dont understand or fathom him doesnt mean he doesnt exist. Do you see what you did now? You put Gods existence solelely on our ability to understand him and that simply isnt logically valid. I dont understand a nuclear reactor but Im not about to say therefore they do not exist.

C. Knowing something to be true is different than understanding it completely. You say we try to contain God? All we do is hold onto the limited knowledge we have of him in this life, complete understanding of him is impossible because he is so much more than us. But just because we dont fully understand him does not mean we cannot know of his existence and operate under the revelations he has given us.

The only thing you refuted was your own faith in God.

This reminds me of the question.. Can God create a rock so heavy he can't move it? Such things are difficult to understand with a finite mind. And no the impossible contradiction does not kill the living God. Example. It is impossible for God to lie.

You are only capable of thinking with your finite knowledge as a human. How do you think you can explain away an infinite, all knowing God? Why do you think Jesus came to this earth? God was presented in a way that people could finally understand, as a human and still we have nonbelievers, such as yourself.

May God Bless you.

You did not even quote the Bible. Not one time. If you are trying to show a contradiction in the Bible, then use the Bible. You just spouted a lot of nonsense, and killed the authenticity of your intelligence.

Where do y'all come from? What you said here makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. And someone actually starred this stupid question?

God is the Alpha & Omega.

God is a topic beyond human understanding,

The Universe is infinate, so they say. Infinate is limitless. Knowing an infinate Universe means knowledge is limitless.

There is no contradiction.

God created all numbers... He created our DNA... He created every star in the sky.

Your logic doesn't disprove God... it proves that man is a finite being with a finite mind.

Can a golden retriever re-wire the electricity in your house? Does that make electrical work a contradiction?

Think about it.

What you are trying to interpret is infinitely. It is impossible for the human mind to grasp as it is illogical and we have logical minds. We can truly never understand it and to say something like God does not exist because WE have limited minds is really pretty shallow and ridiculous!

professing themselves wise, they became fools. Your very argument is illogical. There is no contradiction. You are trying to explain GOD by human definitions and understanding. THAT is what is not possible. That God's knowledge is limitless and that He Knows everything is saying the same thing in different ways - but with the same meaning. You cannot "do away" with God by argument, there are far too many people who know Him intimately.

For a humble simple man you sure are complicated.Indeed the 2 are a contradiction to each other.
the word also says that God is unfathomable to man.

romans11:33 OH THE DEPTH OF THE RICHES BOTH OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.HOW UNSEARCHABLE ARE HIS JUDGEMENTS AND HIS WAYS ARE PAST FINDING OUT.
and mans wisdom

romans1:22 PROFESSING THEMSELVES TO BE WISE THEY BECAME FOOLS.

1st cor.3:19 FOR THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD IS FOOLISHNESS WITH GOD.

proverbs15:14 THE HEART OF HIM THAT HATH UNDERSTANDING SEEKETH KNOWLEDGE, BUT THE MOUTH OF FOOLS FEEDETH ON FOOLISHNESS.

THE FOOL HATH SAID IN HIS HEART THERE IS NO GOD.

says who? if infinity and finity exist in 2 separate dimensions, and infinity is not contained within a dimension, doesn't it stand to reason that the infinty passes through both dimensions travelling through a constant state of containment of non-dimension?

as you realize, none of what I just said makes any sense, just like what you said. God has the ability to "dwell in" but not be contained. It's like being too big for a container, so you pass through it but some of it still remains within.
