This is for my cousin. She has REALLY curly hair and wants some products such as shampoos or other products that will help her hair be less curly or somewhat straight?

Thanks.

Frizz ease does not work at all for me... I recommend using a product called "Frizz Free" it comes in a clear plastic bottle. Apply it to your semi-dry hair and then straighten. It works wonders for the italian/irish curly girl.

It depends on what you are wanting. If you are wanting a permanent straight, I would definitely get a straightener and I personally recommend a thermal ionic straightener. If you are wanting curly one day and straight the next, I would invest in a flat iron, preferably a Chi (found at any beauty supply store) and my all time favorite product Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny. As far as making it less curly, she could get a perm on big rods, to loosen her curls. I don't really like throwing shampoo's out there because so many of them lead to false information. The Super Skinny will help maintain the curl, if wanted curly, but will also help straighten her hair out (when applied correctly) when she wants to flat iron. And is also good for all those frizzy hair days and any fly away that might occur. May get expense with either suggestion, but in the long run, you'll love.

Shampoos and conditioners that say they make your hair straight never work. However, I must say that it is important to condition her hair very well before straightening it though, because even temporarily straightening it with a flat iron can dry it out.
I've had the most success with using Garnier Fructis sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner in the shower, then I towel dry until it is damp and get all the tangles out with a comb.
Then I apply this stuff called "Rusk Str8" and use a small bristly brush and blowdry it straight (I find that the ionic blow dryers are better and reduce frizz).
Then I use a ceramic flat iron to finish it off, and use the Garnier Fructis sleek and shine serum and flexible hold hair spray.

I have a ceramic iron but first I use The whole FRIZZ-EASE line! They have shampoo, conditioner they hair serum then light towel dry then a straighting spray I blow dry then add a straightening cream and flat iron. Works for a week! And I have poodle like curly hair! Try target and wal mart they have the best price for this stuff!

I had the same problem with my hair, so I will give her the advice which I just gave to someone else on yahoo answers:

I was told by my haircutter that, with really thick curly frizzy hair, you need natural oils in your hair. Wash it once a week, according to her. A shampoo created to treat this type of hair is nest for when you do wash it. She also reccomended a leave in conditioner, however, I have not tried that yet. The last thing she advised, which I do use, is curl creme, created by a company called "Bumble and Bumble". there are different types for different thicknesses of hair.
Hope this helps!

she should just flat iron her hair. use one with ion technology or tourmaline they de-frizz your hair while ironing. I use Corioliss and they have one where u can flat-iron wet hair (Wet-To Dry corioliss) but i hear the CHI is good. she should use a ceramic blow-drier too they calm the frizz down a lil bit (my hair gets POOFY when i use a regular one). i dont think shampoos will cuz if she has curly hair water will keep it curly. try some leave-in conditioners or something for her hair after she washes it

ok so i have really curly hair too and basically you need a straightener not a product. to protect your hair from the straightener buy a good quality ceramic one (they're expensive but well worth it) and a heat protecting straightening balm like Wella "striaght away".
put the product in when your hair is towel dried, when your hair is completely dry straighen it.

No! that may not happen. That basically can happen in case you lose all your hair. yet in a distinctive way is that if while u are approximately 4 or something and u have curly hair and decrease it short, it gets straighter. yet no longer in case you're older.
